We don't need no stinking churches...

To paraphrase a well-known line from a movie, or in the more polite fashion that most would say it, "I don't believe in organized religion". My usual thought and reply is that such a statement is the equivalent of saying, "I don't believe in organized bowling".

It is quite natural and beneficial for people to organize in groups when they have similar interests. The sharing of experience and knowledge helps everyone improve their practice of and deepen their enjoyment of whatever hobbies and activities they're involved with.

But human beings have this annoying quirk of imperfection and we tend to cause problems. Personalities clash and narrow self-interest gets in the way of unified group dynamics and purpose. Yet, few will claim, without being laughed at, that such things mean that organized bowling is inherently flawed and not worthy of participation for those who love bowling.

In the case of churches, it is not merely the enjoyment of a good game but moving us closer to God and helping others to do the same. When we reject "organized religion" and try to go it on our own, we throw away the opportunity to experience the rich diversity of the body of Christ. The path that others have taken and learned from is no longer available to us. Why throw out a road map, when it can warn us of dangers ahead, or point us in the direction of additional joys to be had?

Besides all of this, there is the matter of love. God is love. We are called not only to accept God but also to put on the mind of Christ. We can not express love to others in isolation and we destroy the means by which we may experience that love we may so desperately need, though at times we might not even realize the need is there.

All of these benefits and necessary properties of organized religion should encourage us to avoid creating the problems and help to solve them. Too much is at stake, just to completely walk away. Be part of the solution, by working within the body, rather than standing outside. You may be surprised at what you can do to help a church live up to the standards of Christ's message so that even more are drawn to God. Even better, you will learn from fellow travelers, the best stops, the detours, the hazards to avoid on this fascinating journey and that social interaction is superior to isolation for the expression and experience of God's love.

The scariest movie ever made!

At least that's what the trailer for Al Gore's documentary, An Inconvienient Truth, has to say. Though I think they may not realize the uintended implications of making such a claim in the vicinity of Al Gore. Award for best comedy comes to mind. As for the title, my first thought was, "yes you actually lost the election, get over it". Thanks to Libertas which has an excellent post here with a link to the trailer.

Judging from that trailer it appears that An Incovienient Truth *cough* you lost *cough* will be as accurate with science as The Da Vinci Code was with history.

Carnival of the Moonbat Cartoonists! Issue #2

Welcome to the second issue of Carnival of the Moonbat Cartoonists!

Unfortunately, no submissions were received before this deadline, so I'll just go with the last carnival, in case some missed it, and add links to my own articles about Ted Rall, a vile enough individual to need his own species classification - moonbat cartoonist maximus.

This carnival is scheduled for the second Saturday of every month with midnight, the Friday before that day being the sumbission deadline. I'll provide excerpts and links to the articles in the order they have been received. Feel free to submit your own in the future and be sure to leave comments at the blogs that have participated. Don't think you have to only write about nationally known cartoonists. I'm sure there are plenty that are local or even international that can be criticized or defended on numerous issues, so don't be shy.

Our fist submission is from a good friend of  mine and a strong submission it is! I also want to thank him for encouraging me to start this carnival.

Radar, at Radaractive, presents: Ted Rall: Proof against Darwinism

Scientists (and unfortunately, everybody else) have discovered a man so primitive and backwards in his social development, character and basic human decency that Darwinists en masse have thrown up their hands and admitted their mistake. That this individual could be alive today totally discounts the idea of evolution because obviously DEVOLUTION is the operation that is observed.

That this particular noxious specimen has chosen to work as a cartoonist, of all things, is the only thing funny about him or his work. He is not funny, he is not smart, nor clever, witty, nor wise. He is simply offensive, prejudiced, stupid, inane and socially retarded.

[...]

Our second article is from Agora, and presents Now is when History is Written.

Agora introduces the article from Jyllands-Posten:

This feature article ran in yesterday’s Jyllands-Posten. Read this - if for nothing else, to get this sentence in its context: “Who is on our side when it comes to defending Danes against bondage and serfdom to foreign powers?”

Excerpt from the article:

[...]

The calls on the public from former foreign secretaries, the have-been ex-ambassadors, the appeasing bishops, the writers and others have an eerie reminescense of King Christian X’s proclamation after the occupation of April 9, 1940 “During these for our country so troubled times, I urge all the people of Denmark to be fully correct and diginified in their behaviour, since any uncautious act or utterance may have the most severe repercussions.”

Are not these the same words we hear today - demands to not make uncautios utterances - not because they are unlawful, but because foreign lords will not tolerate them? And these demands are made at a time where the Moslem part of the population is still only somewhere between 4 and 5 percent. How much freedom will be left, I wonder, in 10, 15 or 20 years? The sheer horror of a life of serfdom has begun to spread amongst the people and this is where we see the explanation for the massive displacements of voters we have seen the last few weeks.

I want to thank you both, very much, for participating. Everyone, be sure to drop by their blogs and leave input. Keep an eye out for next months Carnival of the Moonbat Cartoonists! and feel free to submit an article of your own.

And my own articles to add to this issue:

Ted Rall - his name should be a profanity

Ted Rall - whiny little girl

Ted Rall - still scum

The Limits of Our Language

Until next time...

Easter

Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.

And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.

And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:

And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?

He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,

Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

And they remembered his words,

And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.

It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.

And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.

Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.

And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.

And they talked together of all these things which had happened.

And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. myspace layout

But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.

And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?

And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?

And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:

And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.

But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.

Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;

And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.

And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.

Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:

Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?

And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

myspace layoutAnd they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.

But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.

And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.

And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.

And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,

Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.

And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.

And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.

And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?

Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.

And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?

And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.

And he took it, and did eat before them.

And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

And ye are witnesses of these things.

And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.

And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.

And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:

And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

WMD - about those trailers

What's old is new again and just like Hollywood, the adversarial press retreads old stories with only minor changes in constant attempts to damage the administration. Some local news stations, this morning, passed along a story uncritically and of course, it feeds into the notion that Bush lied and people died. Notice the sensational headline and the paragraph after the lead:

Lacking Biolabs, Trailers Carried Case for War
Administration Pushed Notion of Banned Iraqi Weapons Despite Evidence to Contrary

[...]

The claim, repeated by top administration officials for months afterward, was hailed at the time as a vindication of the decision to go to war. But even as Bush spoke, U.S. intelligence officials possessed powerful evidence that it was not true.

The problem is that what was being passed on is merely the headline and first couple paragaphs. Instant rebuttal from Captains Quarters:

[...]

What the Post neglects to mention in its sensationalist zeal is that this was one of several teams that investigated the trailers, and the totality of their evaluations came to a different conclusion that that of the leakers who supplied this story. Skip down to the 12th paragraph, which is when Joby Warrick finally gets around to providing the context:

Intelligence analysts involved in high-level discussions about the trailers noted that the technical team was among several groups that analyzed the suspected mobile labs throughout the spring and summer of 2003. Two teams of military experts who viewed the trailers soon after their discovery concluded that the facilities were weapons labs, a finding that strongly influenced views of intelligence officials in Washington, the analysts said. "It was hotly debated, and there were experts making arguments on both sides," said one former senior official who spoke on the condition that he not be identified.

It should be noted that the 12th paragraph is at the very bottom of the first page. This most definitely positions it "below the fold" and makes one wonder how much they regretted not being wordy enough to get that paragraph bumped to page two. He goes on and captures the story more accurately than what I heard on the news this morning:

To put it in advertising terms, two out of three inspectors agreed that the trailers were part of Saddam's WMD effort. The Pentagon relied on that majority opinion, as did the administration, and no one can argue that doing so constituted either an intent to deceive or even an unreasonable decision at the time.

This type of herd mentality, incompetence, bias and sensationalism in service to and/or reinforced by all of the preceding is why the terms legacy media, dead wood media and the like, have come into being. When it only takes reading past the headline and opening paragraphs, to accurately report the story and that obviously is not done; a great deal is amiss and a lack of trust and respect for the "fourth estate" should not be surprising.

But don't bother the legacy media with that. They're too busy pimping, as if it's breaking news, a late Gnostic gospel, rightfully rejected centuries ago, simply because it's controversial to do so near Easter.

I like warm weather...

The weather is finally nice enough to open windows and let fresh air in. Being able to go outside without a bulky coat feels great. Only one problem though. All this fresh air through open windows, makes it easier to hear various sounds just outside. BEEEP BEEEEEP BEEEEEEP!!

I have to wonder, how brain-dead are these morons that incessantly lay on the horn whenever they pick someone up? Do they ever think outside of their own lazy bags of flesh, to realize that if whoever they're picking up can hear it, so can everyone else in the immediate area and if it's startling enough to get your friend's attention, gee, maybe it might, just might irritate everyone else as well?

Heaven forbid, they call their friend on the cell phone instead. Horror of horrors it must be to hit the speed dial or the agony of effort involved if one has been lacking in intellectual gifts or motivation to set that up and have to dial it manually. Then of course, there is the torturous concept of ungluing that rear end wedged into the standard sized bucket seat and actually walking to the door and letting them know you're there.

Nope, can't do any of those things, too much effort, too much thought required. Just lay on that freakin horn you lazy incosiderate BLEEEEEPers!!

There, I feel better now.

oh btw rant alert

Man boy love - what say you?

The reasons for introducing this matter by way of an apparently unrelated subject will become evident soon enough.

Google's Blogspot service offers a number of features for blogging and best of all they're free. Part of the TOS agreement is that we dispaly the Blogger nav bar at the top of our blogs. Not only can this help bring traffice to our site, but it also includes a search function. There is another feature that needs to be considered. There is also a flag button. This so readers can not for Blogspot's attention, that a particular blog contains offensive material. Over time, this could result in various actions being taken by Blogspot.

What is the "Flag" button?

The "Flag?" button is a means by which readers of Blog*Spot can help inform us about potentially questionable content, so we can prevent others from encountering such material by setting particular blogs as "unlisted." This means the blog won't be promoted on Blogger.com but will still be available on the web — we prefer to keep in mind that one person's vulgarity is another's poetry. Or something like that.

For more serious cases, such as spam blogs or sites engaging in illegal activity, we will continue to enforce our existing policies (removing content and deleting accounts when necessary).

Keeping this Blogger feature in mind, let's consider a particular blog as covered by WorldNetDaily:

Google hosts 'boy love' site Family counselor presses Web giant to dump it

A marriage and family therapist is trying to convince Google to drop a website from its popular, free blog host that promotes "boy love," sexual relationships between men and adolescents.

[...]

not long after she exposed it yesterday morning, the "Paiderastia" site removed its most recent posts, including one dated April 9.

Also removed, according to Harp, was a podcast – a file with a radio-style report – that mocked the FBI. It was created through the podcast provider Liberated Syndication.

The site now begins with a Feb. 15 post that outlines the "Boylove Code of Ethics," which includes this rule: "Intimacy with a boy should never develop into a sexual relationship without the boy fully consenting and understanding the social, legal, and health implications of the relationship."

[...]

I find it interesting that some items were alledgely removed after the blog got some less than flattering publicity. See the description at the top that blog:

"Paiderastia" The Boy Love Revival

Pederasty, as idealized by the ancient Greeks, was a relationship and bond between an adolescent boy and an adult man outside of HIS immediate family. This is modernized in today's culture as gender neutral by a relationship and bond between an adolescent child and an adult outside of their immediate family. In a wider sense this refers to erotic/mentor/spiritual love between adolescents and adults. Building Bridges!

And then there is that flag button. For future reference, should that navbar dissappear and conveniently take the flag button with it, that would be violation of Blogger's TOS and subject to disciplinary action as well.

I report, you decide

Apologia 101 v.1

In an online discussion I was once asked if I was a theologion. My answer was no, but I've been called worse ;-) Though I may not have formal training, I have done some reading and study over the years. This combined with my nature to debate and discuss big subjects has caused to notice that some Christians, while meaning well, get a bit beyond the knowledge that they have and end up causing confusion or presenting very weak arguments for the faith. I thought it might be a good idea to give some tips on some of these matters. Hopefully, I can keep the posts short and reference the reader to more detailed resources for further study.

At the bottom of these posts I will include my standard resources that I use for study quite often, but if applicable, add addtional resources for the topic at hand.

For my first post, I'll start with something I've concluded from watching some of these disucussions. Many times, a believer will say Christiantiy is not a religion but a relationship with God. This sounds good, until non-believers go, "huh?" The problem is in distinguishing religion and relationship. What is even more problematic is the Bible speaks of religion as well.

Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. (James 1:27 KJV)

Clearly, there is a positive aspect of religion and spending time trying to make a sharp distinction between the Christian faith and religion is bound to cause needless confusion.

We can cover the important point that one is trying to make about Christianity in a better fashion. Instead of trying to say Christianity is not a religion but instead a relationship, it it would be best to say, Christainity is a religion that is about a relationship with God. This captures the heart of Christainity without getting into needless arguments about what religion is or is not. Instead of making it harder for non-believers to find God, let's do what we can to help lead them to his loving kindness.

*update*

It would be helpful if I would spell the term apologia correctly in my post title before I trackback everywhere. lol

this movie was based on a graphic novel written in the 1960s,   that answers your muhammad question. Christianity is the most-followed western religion. That is why it was most-likely chosen.

It was updated, obviously. Posters of Bush and coalition of the willing. You might want to take a look at what the author of the novel said about it. He called it a liberals fantasy about neocons or something to that affect. He withdrew himself from the movie because of what they changed. Oh and the novel was written in the 80s during the Thatcher administration.

You say avoiding conformity is a very poor method of arriving at truth? Think of it this way; what percentage of the united states is of above-average intelligence? Obviously not the majority. I have yet to meet a person of above-average intelligence who has conservative beliefs,   nor have i met one who is a christian. You people are blind.

Says the person who is unaware of the film being updated and the author of the novel criticizing its message or when the novel was actually written.

I see you are waving various weapons in your photos. You are probably one of those idiots who believes "guns dont kill people,   people kill people." Did you ever stop to think what a gun is? It is a device designed to take life.

My rifle, carbine and 2 pistols must be defective as they have never killed anyone while I've had them. Nor have my 3 swords.

And yes people kill people

The Tyranny of Inanimate Objects

You are probably a warhawk too.

I like how pacifism sounds on paper, but it can easily be seen that it does not work in the real world. However, it does not logically follow that I must therefore love war. As a matter of fact, my perference to avoid violence, led to my choosing a particular martial art over others.

Do you think that sending a bunch of innocent people with loved ones over to another country to kill other innocent people is the best way to solve problems?

Wrong question. Do I think it is necessary to kill bad guys before they kill us? Yep darn tootin I do. It may also, at times, be necessary to kill someone so that they will not kill a p*meow* pacifist.

Or do you think that the ones youd be killing aren't innocent because their governments are corrupt? They conformed,   and you(the soldier) conformed,   and what comes from it? Death in masses.

We take prisoners when they surrender and do the best possible to avoid civilian causalites. I notice a lack of those qualities in al queda and other Isalmic extremists.

I am not sure if you have realized, but in history all over the world there seems to be a trend in governmental protests.

You really think its good when Islamofascists have violent protests over mildly offensive cartoons and people die, or when the French freak out over not having guaranteed jobs, or Islamonuts protest that a man who rejected Islam for Christianity, is allowed to avoid trial for the "offense" and threaten to kill him anyway? You seem not to have realized that protests are not always about good things.

People go to college,  they learn how the government really works

Some colleges are better than others. I wouldnt recommend Berkley though.

and they protest. Rebellion is the opposite of conformity.

Thank you captain obvious.

so what happens when you take a view from outside of fox news? I advise you start thinking alittle more,   and stop watching the brain-drain that is television.

How cute, you bookend your silliness with the indentical assumption. Smooth move kiddo.

As I mentioned previously here, I've been blogging for a year now. I'm going to take a look back over the next few weeks and bring back some posts that are favorites of mine. But to start, I'll bring back some for a  topic that The MaryHunter of TMH's Bacon Bits mentioned when congratulating me for one year of blogging

I particularly like your pieces on stem cell research/breakthroughs/debunking of embryonic stem cells.

The missing link and stupid editors

In a breaking story about what is called proof of a missing link between fish and land animals we have this:

Discovered: the missing link that solves a mystery of evolution

As such, it will be a blow to proponents of intelligent design, who claim that the many gaps in the fossil record show evidence of some higher power.

It would seem that the fossilized missing link has more intelligence than the editor of this rag. Intelligent Design does not require denial of common descent and argues primarily from molecular biology, not from structural forms nor does it argue for ID alone and completely exclude natural means. It should be noted that some of ID's more militant opponents will not allow for anything other than naturalism alone. In other words, falsification of their view is not even allowed in principle. It's rather humorous when these same critics claim that ID is not science by saying that it is not falsifiable, even though ID supporters have described the principles by which ID may be falsified and Miller has claimed to have done so with biological science. But hey, when you're jonesing to stroke your bias, being stupid probably gets overlooked.

Slappy done got slapped!

It must really suck to be the high and mighty and have to deal with lowly security guards. You know, the ones that are tasked with protecting you. Apparently that's how U.S. Rep. Cynthia Slappy McKinney feels. It's hard to conclude otherwise with her reaction to being stopped after going through a security gate at the Capitol. Already, by way of her lawyer, the race card has been thrown out there. I guess there's a prize for who can whip it out the fastest now. No doubt, Slappy will win hands down, judging from her performance thus far.

But, all is not well for our little slap happy diva.

McKinney's arrogance crosses line

In her embarrassing confrontation with the U.S. Capitol Police, U.S. Rep. Cynthia McKinney has demonstrated that while she may have changed her trademark hairstyle, her personal style remains as offensive as ever.

Ouch, nice start, let's see what commences.

McKinney has been sharply criticized — and deservedly so — for allegedly striking a Capitol police officer who stopped her from going around a security checkpoint, a perk allowed members of Congress.

"deservedly so" - sweet

According to police accounts, the officer asked McKinney three times to halt before putting his hand out to restrain her. That's when Capitol Hill police — who asked a federal prosecutor Monday to approve an arrest warrant for McKinney — say the outraged congresswoman hit the officer.

The officer apparently failed to recognize the DeKalb Democrat, who was not wearing a special lapel pin given to the 435 House members to help police identify them. In addition, McKinney sports a new hairdo.

Oh, thats hair?!!

A smarter, less arrogant politician would have smiled at the officer who stopped her, extended a hand and explained: "I'm Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney from the great state of Georgia, and I appreciate your diligence in keeping the Capitol safe. Next time, I hope you'll recognize me." She would have had a pal for life.

Of course they only say that because she's black, ya know?

But why make friends when you can make headlines? Two days after the scuffle, McKinney faced TV cameras and stayed true to form, charging the officer with racism.

"The whole incident was instigated by the inappropriate touching and stopping of me — a female, black congresswoman," she said.

See, told ya, she's black! and heaven forbid the lowly worker bees touch Queen Slappy

McKinney's haughty position — that every Capitol employee ought to know her by sight and that she should never have to endure checkpoints like the riffraff — evinces the arrogance and ego that voters expect from elected officials. It may be inconvenient for self-important people such as McKinney to stop and show their IDs, but it's essential in these scary times of terrorist bombings and anthrax attacks.

Even scarier - that hairdo

In 1998, two Capitol officers were killed by a mentally ill man who opened fire at the main tourist entrance to the Capitol.

So? they weren't black slap happy congress critters. Besides, they may have been the type to expect Slappy to actually ID herself. Clearly they're not important enough to be concerned with. Get with the game fellas. We are to bow down before her eminence and always, worship the hair.

In the past, McKinney has complained that she's mistaken for the "hired help" in Washington. In the next election, DeKalb residents can help clear up that confusion by putting an end to McKinney's employment with them.

Me thinks Slappy suffers from Freudian projection. But dont forget the hair.

Miss McKinney regrets. But won't apologize

"The US Capitol Police mission statement makes no distinction about selective application of its mission depending upon whether a Member of Congress is black, woman, or has a new hairstyle. But, honestly, this incident is not about wearing a Congressional pin or changing my hairstyle. It is true that I have changed my hairstyle. . . Do I have to contact the police every time I change my hairstyle?

"I have agreed to try to remember to wear my pin and to notify Capitol Hill police every time I change my hairstyle. . . It is, however, a shame that while I conduct the country’s business, I have to stop and call the police to tell them that I’ve changed my hairstyle so that I’m not harassed at work."

Cynthia’s fixation on her new do aside, the incident would not have occurred if she’d been wearing the label pin all House members are issued. The emblem allows them to avoid normal security procedures.

btw she's black

Video round up v.1

These have been around the internet for awhile but perhaps some of you missed them.

First, let's make sure more heads explode. Have to cull the herd for the good of the Democrat party after all.

BUSH WAS RIGHT! (thank you Rightwingsparkle)

Notice the nyah nyah guitar lick - heh

Next is an interview with Bruce Lee that I had never seen before. It's quite fascinating to see his self-effacing personality but then the passion he has discussing the martial arts.

Bruce Lee interview - 25 minutes

I have couple more internet oldies but that will do for now.

OTA - Open Trackback Post 04.03.06

As the lovely Samantha Burns says:

Please use this space to trackback your best, main page articles (I just require a link to this article, as always). Also, if you have something to discuss, it is welcomed here as well.

ADVICE: Trackback main blog page articles to showcase your work (and it will help to attract readers).

Yep, I was in a plagirizing mood ;-) Nevertheless, it's a good way to draw more attention to your blog, so trackback away :-) I'll have one of these each Monday, because, well, I hate Mondays ;-p

Please refrain from using international accent marks in your post url. The inline trackback script will fail if those are used.

Happy blogoversary to me :-)

One year ago today, I started this blog, for better or for worse.

My first post was just a bit of a hello

but was followed by:

Terri Schiavo Schindler – Lessons Learned

Since then, I've tweaked my blog template quite a bit, adding a second sidebar. Other add-ons include tranlsation tools, bookmark and rss subscription options, inline trackback and the Department/category navigation feature, though I still have a few months to go through to get to my current posts. All of those add-ons were found when I ran across Freshblog. If you like enhancing blogger, be sure to add him to your blogroll.

Let me know if you have a favorite post of mine that you would like to be highlighted as a look back on my first year. Because if you don't, you can't complain when I pick what I like ;-p
