Miscellaneous meanderings and philosophical ramblings. The title from a spiral notebook I used to jot down my thoughts on religion and other matters some years ago. I like to write, think and express my views on various issues. Robust discussion is welcome.

Galileo Galilei, spinning in his grave

Apparently a high priest of global warming caused by man, has made a new pronouncement.

Put oil firm chiefs on trial, says leading climate change scientist

James Hansen, one of the world's leading climate scientists, will today call for the chief executives of large fossil fuel companies to be put on trial for high crimes against humanity and nature, accusing them of actively spreading doubt about global warming in the same way that tobacco companies blurred the links between smoking and cancer.

[...]

Thanks to Ace, who also has links to Climate Audit, which clearly show that Hansen's work is rather less than competent or even open to examination. There's a Hansen category there if you're interested in more. Be sure to also catch the excerpts from Climate Audit picked up by a comment at Ace's post, here. Considering the above news report, and that Hansen's methods are as protected from the common masses of man, and peer review, as the scriptures were when the Church only allowed them to be written in Latin, one has to wonder if Hansen is aware of the word irony.

Such an individual would be entertaining if it were not for the possibility that many would agree with his statements.

I do however laugh at several fundie atheists I've dealt with, who have touted global warming caused by man as if it were their replacement for religion. Their mocking of the "blind" faith of Christianity, despite being told Biblical faith is not blind, while constantly claiming to hold to the scientific method brings a question to mind.

What do they think of James Hansen's scientific methodology?
