Mike Huckabee thinks you're stupid

No matter how gifted Mike Huckabee is as a communicator, rivaling even Ronald Reagan, he only shows that he falls far short of Reagan's character when he plays political games that require as a premise, that his targets, as in you and I, are just too mentally slow to catch the cynical manipulations.

One such example I covered in a previous post, where Mike Huckabee so clearly mischaracterized criticism of his foreign policy, that it could only be characterized as a lie compounded by his assuming that the audience would just be too ignorant to know the truth of the matter.

But Mike Huckabee has gone so far now, that he elicits laughter from the reporters that he's using to help manipulate those he's appealing to for votes in the Republican primary. His latest act is to make a serious attack ad against Mitt Romney, then call a press conference to place himself on the moral high ground, because he's decided not to run the ad. Just one problem, besides the moralizing, look at me, how great I am issues; Huckabee then shows the ad, that he isn't going to run, to the reporters, and that is when the laughter begins. You can see the video here at HotAir.

So, to those who support or are considering voting for Mike Huckabee, do you really like being thought so stupid that you won't notice that his calling the press conference and showing the ad to the reporters means that it will get national coverage, for free? Mike Huckabee won't have to pay for the attack ad to be played; the press will do it for him.

Let's not forget that as a Christian preacher, something he makes sure we don't forget, there is a passage that he should be well aware of.

Luke 18:11  The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
Luke 18:12  I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
Luke 18:13  And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
Luke 18:14  I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

It's a shame, that this former preacher, while using religion as a sledgehammer to claim moral superiority on political issues and stifle reasonable debate, even amongst Christians, places his political desires above scripture he should know very well. Mike Huckabee's misuse of religion has required that several times, while commenting on other blogs, I've had to state that I'm a conservative prolife Christian, because some of his supporters seem to think that only atheists, or those who hate evangelicals, would dare criticize the Huckabee.

But maybe I'm wasting my time even mentioning this. Perhaps Mike Huckabee is correct, people will vote for him no matter his record, or what he says or does now, or how much he's flip flopped while criticizing others for the same. All Mike Huckabee has to do is put Christianity on his sleeve and talk in a calm voice and enough people actually will be too stupid to consider anything of such matters.

Hey, don't get mad at me for saying that. Mike Huckabee has shown several times now, that he's the one who really believes you are too stupid to see behind the curtain.
