Let's make note of this now
Because eventually it will be turned into, look what the Democrat congress has done. But the truth is rather different than the eventual MSM spin.
The deficit is down nearly 33% compared to last year (Thanks to LGF)
The deficit through the first three months of the current fiscal year is almost $39 billion, or 32.7%, lower than last year's comparable figure. Receipts are up a bit over 8%, as the supply-side tax cuts continue their "magic." The real surprise is that outlays have barely budged, actually going up at a rate that is substantially lower than inflation (Psst -- Don't tell Congress that). Will the media notice?
There's a nice chart there and a link to the government data if you care to crunch through it all.
So, before the Democrats can do much more than stumble over themselves here and here, as well as, take a day off for a football game and have earmark reform resisted by Democrats in the Senate, we have the deficit being reduced and government bringing more money in.
I guess we had better kill those tax cuts before something like this gets worse!
